How to convert meters to centimeters

centimeters = meters × 100

The meter is the SI base unit of length. 1 centimeter is one hundredth of a meter (SI prefix centi, 10⁻²).

The factor is exact in both directions: 1 m = 100 cm and 1 cm = 0.01 m. Nothing is rounded until you choose how many decimals to show.

Worked example: 1.75 m

1. Start with the value in meters: 1.75 m.
2. Multiply by 100, because 1 meter = 100 centimeters: 1.75 × 100 = 175 cm.
