Micrometers to Millimeters Converter

The math

One millimeter equals 1,000 micrometers (μm), so converting micrometers to millimeters is division by 1,000: mm = μm ÷ 1000. There's no rounding step in the code — the field simply shows the raw division result, including trailing decimals.

Worked example

1,500 μm ÷ 1000 = 1.5 mm. For a value below the millimeter scale — 75 μm ÷ 1000 = 0.075 mm — the result stays in decimal form rather than switching to scientific notation, so watch the leading zeros on small inputs.

Where this comes up
