Fluid Ounces to Cups Converter

The US measuring-cup standard

This converter uses the US customary standard: 1 cup = 8 fluid ounces. Divide fluid ounces by 8 and you have cups: cups = fluid ounces ÷ 8. Note this is the US cup — the UK/Commonwealth "cup" of 10 imperial fluid ounces is a different measure and this tool doesn't use it.

Worked example

Enter 20 fluid ounces and the field auto-fills with 2.5 cups (20 ÷ 8 = 2.5). Because conversion runs on every keystroke, you don't need to click the button — the cups field updates as soon as you finish typing.
