How the Split Works

The calculator treats the integer part of your input as whole hours, then converts the fractional remainder into minutes and seconds. For 2.75, that's 2 whole hours; the leftover 0.75 × 60 = 45 minutes; and nothing remains after that, so 0 seconds. Result: 2h 45m 0s.

Common Reference Points

0.25 hours = 15 minutes, 0.5 hours = 30 minutes, 0.75 hours = 45 minutes. Values that aren't a multiple of a quarter hour produce less round-looking output — 1.37 hours becomes 1h 22m 12s, not a clean number, which is exactly why a calculator beats eyeballing a rough estimate here.
